This morning I shared an article on our social media pages, “6 Easy Ways to Reduce Stress”, which provided some helpful hints on how to avoid stress and negativity. In today’s society, it is easy to understand why people feel negative strains because of the economy, the pressure people put on themselves, and the fast paced live style that we live. When you let personal factors affect your entire mood, you are causing yourself extra stress in the workplace, which can cause you to be less productive.
The tips offered in this article are simple tasks that everyone should try to practice. One of the biggest points I thought was helpful was to “Renegotiate Your Workload”. Personally, I write down all of my tasks and duties, list them by importance, and make myself a schedule so that I have a deadline of when things should be done. I make sure that these are realistic based on the amount of time that is in a day and the amount of time the tasks requires to be completed.
Another vital tip they offered was to “Avoid Stressful People”. After time, you adapt to your environment and the people you spend time with. If you are around a lot of stressed out people in your personal life and/or your professional life, you might notice that your mood and attitude. You won’t always be able to choose your environment though, so make sure when you are around high-strung people, you pull yourself away so that you do not get sucked into the same behavior patterns.
Just remember…”keep calm, and carry on”.
