GAS: Why I’m Paying $4 but My Neighbor Isn’t

I currently reside in Charlotte, NC where I’ve recently been paying around 3.35/gal.  The cheapest i’ve found it was 2 days ago.  I was filling up at a Shell for 3.38 and across the street was a mom&pop gas station selling it at 3.24.  Gas prices vary depending on the state, city and even the block where you buy it.  The biggest deciding factor is taxes.  75-80% of the differing state gas prices are due to taxes.
