Applications greatly expand the capabilities of your phone or tablet

If you’ve got a BlackBerry device, then one of the best features you’ll want to utilise, is the ability to download apps to your handset.

There are thousands of applications available in BlackBerry’s App World and they cover just about any subject you can think of, from business-orientated to leisure and games. Here’s how to download an app.

Step one
To download an app from BlackBerry World onto your handset, you need to have BlackBerry App World installed on your handset. If you don’t, first visit BlackBerry’s dedicated web page to install the software. Alternatively, you can install the software on your PC but you’ll then need to connect your device to your machine via a USB cable to download apps.

Step two
Open the BlackBerry App World and browse the store for an application you want to download. When you find one, click on the app name to view more details about the software.

Step three
Scroll down to Download and press this option. The app will now be installed on your handset, ready for you to start using it. It’s worth noting that as well as purchasing paid-for apps via you mobile phone contract or a credit card, you can also use PayPal.
