How to Prove You’re Talented

Posted on July 30, 2012

Does your resume express your true talents?  By reading it, will others feel as if they understand all of your unique qualities?  Probably not.  Your resume is often highlighting your past successes, but does not go into major detail about who you are, your work ethic, or your full capabilities.

How can you prove you’re a talent human being in the workplace?

Real Life Examples

When asked questions during an interview or once hired, give specific examples of how you have succeeded in a challenging situation.  These could be work related examples, events that took place while in school, or even personal examples.  You want to highlight your success story confidently, keeping it short and sweet.

Be The Solution

All companies have various positions to help control and maintain the dynamics of the workload.  You were chosen for a reason (whether you are interviewing or have been hired on) to help sustain the duties and responsibilities.  If you can own the position, taking control of all responsibilities and then some, you will once again prove to your employees that you are more than capable of handling your position.  Remember that this type of behavior can lead to promotions and will give you an honorable reputation.

Be Passionate

Enjoy what you do!  Dive into your work and be passionate about what you’re doing.  The more positive you are, the more successful you will be.  Positive thinking leads to happiness, which leads to success, which leads to bigger and better things!

Prove Your Leadership

Want to move up the ladder in your company?  Prove to your employers that you’re a natural-born leader.  Go above and beyond your basic duties.  Ask for additional responsibilities to take on more projects.  Lend a helping hand to your co-workers when they might need it.  Set realistic goals for yourself and revisit them.  Work hard, even if you think no one’s looking.  By building these core work habits into your daily routine, you will be on your way to success!
